Based in Littlebury, near Saffron Walden, with over fifteen years of successfully teaching Pilates and helping clients achieve results.  Whether you are a client looking to begin your Pilates experience, a runner looking to enhance your running, or a teacher progressing your own teaching, DO Pilates has lots to offer.

ABOUT DUNCAN

Duncan has been teaching Pilates for over fifteen years, having qualified in matwork as a master matwork teacher and a level 4 lower back pain exercise specialist.  Along with matwork, Duncan is qualified in Reformer, Cadillac and the Wunda chair and all the small equipment.  Along with the classes and private sessions he runs in his own studio, Duncan is part of the Teacher Training team for Body Control Pilates, teaching the level 3 matwork, level 4 movement and adaptations, intermediate and advanced mat, all the small equipment and the Pilates for runners course.  Until recently, he was teaching the intermediate and advanced teacher classes on a weekly basis in London.  Along with teaching at Body Control Pilates, Duncan also teaches his own teacher workshops around the country.  Aside from Pilates, Duncan is a keen runner, having taken part in over 40 marathons and half marathons and works with lots of local runners on improving running technique.

GROUP CLASSES

Group classes take place at the Old Gym in Victoria Park, Hackney.

 

Set in an enviable position, right on the edge of Victoria Park in a beautiful historical building, right next to the running club main hall.

 

Group classes run on Mondays at 11:00am and 12:15pm and a Pilates for Runners class on Fridays at 12:00pm.

 

Courses run between 6 and 8 weeks depending on how dates fall.
6 weeks is £78, 7 weeks is £91 and 8 weeks is £104. Unfortunately there are no refunds for missed sessions.
Zoom classes are also available (also 6 to 8 weeks), 6 weeks is £60, 7 weeks £70 and 8 weeks £80, payable in advance.

RUNNING

I can help with individual running goals, looking at the fundamentals of running technique. I use exercises and mobilisation to improve running form, enhancing movement potential and helping to avoid injury.

BESPOKE SESSIONS

Built entirely around you. Taking into account your current level of fitness, goals you want to achieve and any injuries you may have.

BACK 4 GOOD

I am qualified as a REPS level 4 lower back pain exercise specialist.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops for your group. Arrange either a one-off or a series of workshops for your running group.

TEACHER WORKSHOPS

Having taught my own teacher workshops for several years, I am available for bookings for teachers interested in organising a workshop for themselves and other teachers.

Private sessions

Individual sessions take place in Littlebury, Saffron Walden and Victoria Park, Hackney. Both studios are fully equipped with a variety of equipment including; Reformer, Cadillac Tower, Exo Wunda chair and a variety of small Pilates equipment, enabling me to provide a fully bespoke 1:1 session based around your own individual needs and goals.

 

Individual 1:1 sessions are £60 per hour in both Littlebury and Hackney.

RUNNERS

I have been teaching Pilates and Movement classes for runners for over fifteen years, working with runners of all ages and abilities, ranging from those looking to improve their 5k ParkRun to those competing at International level. I have run over 40 half and full marathons myself, and I qualified five years in a row for the London marathon as a “Good for Age” runner. Aside from the work in my own studio I am a senior teacher for Body Control Pilates, and have attended running courses for myself regularly over the last decade. I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals in running, helping them transform the way they run and to reconnect with the joy of running naturally.
